Truffle Shuffle

Took a hike through part of Proud Lake State Recreation Area.

Kept my eyes peeled for morel mushrooms- no dice. ‘The light wasn’t right’.

Discouraging to see how many invasive plants are, well, invading.

Garlic Mustard, Russian Olive, and honeysuckle have really overwhelmed some areas, and are spreading fast. Watching for signs of Beech Bark disease, which is going to be devastating. Most of the ash trees are long dead, killed by the emerald ash borer. All I can do is photograph what’s left before it’s gone.
