Another skate just before sunset. Stayed pretty much in yesterday’s tracks. The smoother looking ice further out beckons, but the ice’s clarity reveals it’s somewhat alarming lack of thickness along the pressure cracks. A few more days of cold weather should help. Anything less than 6 inches isn’t exactly trustworthy. Make a few laps along a track near shore- still very enjoyable as the sun pops out just as it sets.

Had the place to myself. Did 3.6 miles while the light faded.
